Privacy policy
What we collect when you contact us, who it goes to, how long we keep it, and how to ask for a copy or have it corrected.
This policy explains what personal information Flush & Flow Plumbing & Gas collects through this website, why we collect it, who it goes to, and what you can do about it. It's written to be read rather than to cover us, so if anything here is unclear just ask.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020.

Jorden Clark is responsible for privacy enquiries. There's no separate privacy team — it's the same person you'd talk to about a job.
What we collect when you contact us
If you fill in the quote form or the service job form on this site, we collect what you type into it:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address (quote form)
- The property address the work relates to
- The type of job, how urgent it is, and whatever you tell us about it
- Whether you'd prefer we phone or email you
- Which page of this site you sent the enquiry from
We use it for one thing: getting back to you about the job, quoting it, and carrying it out. We don't sell it, rent it, or add you to a mailing list.
Giving us this information is voluntary, but we can't quote a job without at least a way to contact you and some idea of what needs doing.
What's collected automatically
Like most websites, this one records some technical information when you visit — your IP address, browser and device type, which pages you looked at, how you got here, and roughly where in the world you are. We use it to understand which pages are useful and whether the site is working, not to identify you personally.
Who your information goes to
We use a small number of outside services to run this site. Each one is listed here with what it actually sees:
- Web3Forms — delivers the enquiry forms to our email. Everything you type into a form passes through it.
- Photon (Komoot) — powers the address suggestions as you type in the address field. It receives what you type into that field so it can suggest matches. It's an open-source service built on OpenStreetMap data.
- Google Analytics — tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, and whether they tapped the phone number or sent a form. It uses cookies and sees your IP address. It does not receive anything you type into a form.
- Google Fonts — supplies the typefaces this site uses. Google's servers see your IP address when the fonts load.
- Google Maps — the map embedded on our contact page is loaded from Google and is subject to Google's own privacy terms.
- Cloudflare — hosts and delivers this site, and provides basic visitor counts. It sees your IP address as part of serving the pages.
Some of these providers are based overseas, which means information handled by them may be stored or processed outside New Zealand.
Beyond that, we'll only share your information where we need to in order to do the job — for example passing your address to a registered drainlayer we're arranging on your behalf — or where the law requires it.
Cookies
This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics to tell repeat visits apart. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site works perfectly well either way.
How long we keep it
Enquiries arrive as email and stay in our inbox and job records. We keep records of work we've done for as long as we need them — for the workmanship guarantee, for tax and business records, and because a plumber often needs to know what was done at a property years later. If you'd rather we deleted an enquiry that didn't turn into a job, ask and we will.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us:
- What personal information we hold about you, and to be given a copy of it
- To correct it if it's wrong

Keeping it safe
This site is served over HTTPS, so anything you send through a form is encrypted in transit. Enquiries are held in email accounts protected by passwords and two-factor authentication. No system is perfect, and we won't pretend otherwise — but we don't hold payment card details on this site, and we never ask for them through a form.
Children
This site isn't aimed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
If you're not happy
Tell us first — most things are a misunderstanding and quick to sort. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner:
