Terms of use
The terms covering this website. The terms of any job we do for you are agreed separately when we quote it.
These terms cover your use of this website. They're not the terms of any job we do for you — those are agreed separately, in writing, when we quote the work.
About the information on this site
We've tried to make everything here accurate and useful, but it's general information about plumbing and gasfitting, not advice about your particular house. Pipework, drainage and gas installations vary enormously between properties, and nothing on this site is a substitute for someone actually looking at yours.
Gas in particular: gasfitting work must be carried out by a registered gasfitter. Nothing on this site should be read as encouragement to do gas work yourself. If you smell gas, turn it off at the source if it's safe to do so, ventilate, stay off switches and appliances, get everyone out, and call us on 027 811 5916.
Prices shown on this site
The rates published on this site are our standard charge-out rates and are exclusive of GST. They're accurate at the date shown below and can change.
Our normal working hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Work carried out outside those hours is charged at our out-of-hours rates. Work carried out on a public holiday is charged at our public holiday rates for the whole of that day, whatever the hour. The rate that applies is determined by when the work is carried out.
Anything on this site — including any price, estimate or indication of cost — is not a quote and doesn't bind either of us. A quote is a quote when we've given you one in writing for a specific job. Sending an enquiry through this site is not a booking; a job is booked when we've confirmed it with you.
Quotes
Quotes are provided free of charge for work within Christchurch and are valid for at least 30 days from the date of issue, unless the quote itself says otherwise. A quote covers the work described in it and the materials it allows for. If the scope changes, or something is found that could not reasonably have been identified when the quote was prepared, we will tell you before carrying on and agree the variation with you rather than adding it to the final invoice.
Deposits and payment
Quoted work. Where you accept a quote and the quoted price exceeds $1,000 + GST, a deposit of 50% of the quoted price is payable on acceptance of the quote. The balance is payable within 7 days of the date the work is completed. Quoted work at or under $1,000 + GST requires no deposit and is invoiced on completion.
Hourly work. Work charged at our hourly rates is invoiced on completion and payable within 7 days of the date of the invoice. No deposit is required for hourly work; deposits apply to quoted work only.
Ownership of goods
All goods and materials supplied by us remain the property of Flush & Flow Plumbing & Gas until the outstanding balance owing to us has been paid in full.
The 2-year workmanship guarantee
Work we carry out is guaranteed for two years from the date of completion. The guarantee covers our workmanship — if something we installed or repaired fails because of how we did it, we come back and put it right at no charge to you.
Two things sit outside it:
- Drain unblocking. Our drain clearing covers gully traps, waste pipework within the house, and roof gutters, spouting and downpipes. Blockages in the underground sewer or stormwater drain require a registered drainlayer or a technician with specialist unblocking equipment. Clearing a blocked drain is not guaranteed. A drain that has blocked once can block again — because of tree roots, a broken or bellied pipe, fat, wipes or anything else put down it — and none of that is a fault in the clear we carried out. Where we can see why a drain keeps blocking, we will tell you.
- Appliances and materials supplied by you. If you supply the appliance, fitting or material, it carries the manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty, not ours, and we can’t guarantee an item we didn’t source. Our workmanship installing it is still covered.
Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any other law that applies to you.
Using this site
You're welcome to read, print and share anything here. Please don't copy the text, photographs or design for use on another business's website — the words and the job photos are ours and were made for this site.
Please don't use the forms to send anything abusive, misleading, or on someone else's behalf without their knowledge, and don't try to interfere with the site or the systems behind it.
Links to other sites
Where we link out — to suppliers, to the PGDB register, to our reviews — we don't control those sites and aren't responsible for what's on them.
Availability
We'd like this site to be up all the time, and we can't promise it. If it's down and you need a plumber, call 027 811 5916 — the phone is answered 24 hours and it's faster anyway.
Liability, and what we can't limit
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for loss arising from relying on general information on this website rather than getting the job looked at.
That limit does not, and is not intended to, affect your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where you're dealing with us as a consumer. Those rights can't be contracted out of, and we're not trying to.
Privacy
How we handle the information you send us is set out in our privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
