New housing, newer problems

- Manifold and PEX fittings. Generally reliable, but a poorly made crimp fails at the crimp, and it usually does so inside a wall.

My shower has gone lukewarm but the cylinder seems fine — why?
In a newer home with a mains pressure cylinder, that's most often a failed tempering valve rather than a cylinder fault. Tempering valves blend hot and cold to a safe outlet temperature and they wear out well before the cylinder does. It's a comparatively cheap fix once it's correctly diagnosed.
Water is dripping from a pipe outside my newer house — is that normal?
A small discharge from a relief valve outlet after heavy hot water use can be normal. A continuous trickle is not — it usually means an expansion control or relief valve that isn't seating, and it's wasting water and telling you something is out of adjustment. Worth getting looked at.
